Power-Trowelled EpoxyThe surface of a concrete floor can be destroyed by heavy traffic, chemical erosion, or a combination of both. When concrete is placed, the surface, or “cap” of the concrete is only 1/8” to 1/4” in depth. When the cap is worn off, the floor becomes soft and will erode quickly. The surface of the floor will be porous and difficult to keep clean. It is very expensive to replace the concrete entirely, because the area must be shut down for several days, interrupting production. After new concrete is installed, the concrete must cure before putting industrial traffic on it. A power-trowelled epoxy coating on the concrete floor is an excellent alternative to replacing eroded concrete. It will protect the concrete from further erosion and will also be extremely easy to keep clean.
